Karen Lindh's objectives are:

Energy

Karen Lindh has developed significant expertise on the electric deregulation process, having been at the center of the electric restructuring debate. The process began at the California Public Utilities Commission in 1994 with the issuance of the Blue Book and became law with the passage of Assembly Bill 1890, which was signed by Governor Wilson on September 23, 1996.

Experience with the deregulation of natural gas in California, which started in 1984 and concluded in 1991, also provides Karen with the background to anticipate political reaction to changing market conditions.

Energy policy continues to evolve in California, influenced by a wide array of governmental and quasi-governmental decisions. Karen tracks policy development by the Legislature, the California Public Utilities Commission, the California Energy Commission, the Electricity Oversight Board, the California Power Authority, and the California Independent System Operator to keep abreast of the changing rules of the game.

Environmental

In her capacity as Policy Director for CMA, Ms. Lindh was also involved with a number of lobbying campaigns on environmental issues, such as CEQA reform, the California Clean Air Act, the Regulatory Structure Update on hazardous waste issues, solid waste/recycling issues and environmental audits, providing Karen with a solid base to perform a variety of environmental services, such as regulatory tracking, strategic planning and advocacy.
